Tutorial: How to Contour and Highlight for Beginners

You absolutely know the trend of contouring and highlighting. It becomes so popular when one of hollywood star, Kim Kardashian, posted her contour-style-makeup. So, start with the question: what's the benefit of makeup contouring? Makeup benefit with contouring technique proved to be extremely amazing. Not many people who understand this technique so not many people who can feel the efficacy of this technique in face contouring. Women are not always born with the perfect face shape so many women are not satisfied with the shape of their face. With these contouring techniques you can hide parts of the face that does not want to expose that will shape the face of a beautiful and perfect. The good news is, the contouring technique is not as difficult as you imagine :D

Curious about the contouring techniques huh? Contouring only requires two concealer or foundation with two colors; dark colors like brown and bright or white (highlighter). Well, with concealer or dark foundation color you can hide the face that you won't to show and the white color would you like to highlight that make your face perfect. For example, when you give the effect of shade on the bottom of the cheek, then you can give a highlight on the top. Or if you provide shade on the brow bone area, then you can give a highlight under the brow so that the eyes look bigger.For the nose area, the goal is that the nose contouring look slim, so you can provide shade on both sides of the nose. Blend bronzer on both sides, then use the highlights from the middle of the nose area to the bottom. On the cheeks, if you want your cheekbones look firm and camouflage "cheek bag" use a darker shade on skin from the cheek bone area up to the ear. Then give the highlights on the top of the cheekbones and don't forget to give a blush on. If you have any hollow cheeks or small, use highlights from the middle of the cheek until the middle of the lower lip.
 
To camouflage a double chin, use makeup bronzer from around the jaw line continues down to the side of your neck. This application will be very helpful to create the impression your firmly jaw. But don't forget to provide shade as well on the whole area of the neck, so that the color of the neck and face blended well. So it does not look like a mask. 

For the brow area, if you have a wide forehead, use makeup bronzer with bright colors in the area T and blend. In this way will give a shadow effect, so it can be looked a rounder head.

In the eye area, do contouring by giving shade from the back corner of the eye all the way to around the area T. Where has dark eye circles, use a concealer with a light peach or salmon color shade to neutralize the dark color of the eyes.

Tips:
According to teenvogue.com, celebrity makeup pro Pati Dubroff says, "Contours are meant to be matte, while highlight is meant to have shimmer. Texture is key." So, choose matte bronzer and shimmery highlighter. :)

3. Ratakan dengan 2 jari kalian (telunjuk dan jari tengah) krimnya.

Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Ageing Night Cream dikemas dalam jar plastik berwarna abu-abu dengan black screw-on lid sehingga terlihat mahal dan berat, seperti yang terbuat dari kaca. Produk ini sangat mudah untuk dibawa kemanapun. Masalahnya, karena krim ini ditaruh di dalam jar, jadi ketika akan mengambil krimnya dengan mencelupkan jari. Ini menjadi tidak higienis kan :'(

 
Krimnya berwarna putih dengan tekstur yang lembut, halus, ringan, dan bau yang harummm. Baunya ini ngga menyengat dan ngga gengges sama sekali. So, don't worry! Krim ini sangat mudah merata pada kulit dan bahkan aku ngga perlu memijat wajahku karena krimnya meresap sangat cepat. Kulitku terasa menjadi halus dan lembab tanpa rasa lengket atau berminyak.

Its Cream

Ketika aku bangun di pagi hari, ngga ada tanda-tanda minyak berlebih pada wajah saya, terutama T-Zone (yippie!) dan kulitku terasa sehat dan lentur. Dalam minggu pertama, wajahku terlihat bercahaya dan segar. Tentu saja ngga ada sama sekali tanda kekeringan di wajah. Pori-pori di wajah juga terlihat menyust, dan noda hitam di wajah tersamarkan. Well, ngga ada alasan untuk ngga cinta sama produk ini kaaan? :D

Pros:

1. Kemasannya cukup kokoh
2. Teksturnya halus, lembut, dan ringan. Jadi cepet meresap di wajah
3. Tidak berat dan tidak berminyak 
4. Kulit terlihat sehat dan segar di keesokan harinya tanpa ada tanda oiliness 
5. Ngga bikin break out
6. Wanginya enak dan ngga menyengat karena lama-lama cepat pudar wanginya

Cons:

1. Overpriced IDR 133k for 50 gr. Still sih seharusnya kemasannya terbuat dari glass (apapun yang lebih bagus dari plastik)
2. Seharusnya packaging nya dalam bentuk tube jadi lebih higenis

Aku merekomendasikan produk ini buat kalian yang mungkin masih bingung memilih krim malam anti ageing. Aku pribadi suka banget sama tekstur krimnya yang halus ini dan sejauh ini sudah memberi efek baik pada kulitku. Kulit wajahku terlihat 'well-rested'.

Review: Olay Total Effects 7 in 1 Anti-Ageing Serum

It's me again... Yeay! On this post, it may kinda different because first...I'm going to review skin care product, when previously I reviewed makeup product. And the second thing, I'm going to write in Bahasa :D

Sekitar dua minggu kemarin, aku membaca salah satu artikel online vemale.com yang menyebutkan bahwa faktanya penuaan yang terjadi pada kulit (terutama wajah) sudah berlangsung saat usia seseorang menginjak angka 20 tahun. Sebuah survei pernah dilakukan oleh dr. Joyce Lim (seorang ahli dermatologis dari Singapura), ia menyebutkan bahwa wanita Indonesia selalu memusatkan pada produk skincare yang membuat kulit putih. Tak jarang, sebagai wanita, kita cenderung mengabaikan tanda-tanda penuaan pada wajah. Kita baru akan aware dengan penuaan kulit di usia 25-30 tahun, yang ditandai dengan kulit yang mulai kusam. Jadi, kalau kalian mau fokus untuk mencegah penuaan (ketika kita berumur 30-an, kulit kita masih tampak muda dan segar), maka kalian harus mulai melakukan perawatan kulit dengan menggunakan produk skincare (baca ini juga) yang mempunyai manfaat anti-ageing (perawatan kulit untuk mencegah penuaan dini, bukan untuk mengatasi keriput).

Ingredients: Diperkaya dengan vitamin B3, pro-vitamin B5 and vitamin E, serum ini juga memiliki kandungan sucrose polycottonseedate yang bagus, c13-14 isoparaffin, panthenol, tocopheryl acetate, stearyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, dimethiconol, benzyl alcohol and bahan lain yang menyehatkan kulit Anda dan membuatnya terlihat luar biasa.

Cara mengaplikasikan serum ini:

1. Bersihkan wajah kalian dengan facial foam lalu keringkan.
2. Gunakan serum Olay Anti-Ageing Serum dengan jumlah secukupnya (seukuran biji kacang) dan tepuk merata di kulit wajah dan leher dengan jari kalian.
3. Kalau kalian punya kulit sensitif, tunggu 10-15 menit setelah mencuci wajah, baru kemudian kalian bisa mulai mengaplikasikan serumnya. 
4. Gunakan 1-2 kali sehari.
5. Kalian bisa gunakan produk makeup lain (foundation, bedak, pelembab) setelah memakai serum ini. Serum ini malah jadi kayak kanvas buat wajah kalian. Dengan catatan diamkan dulu selama kurang lebih 3 menit sebelum mengaplikasikan foundation atau bedak ya.

Olay Total Effects serum ini dikemas dalam botol plastik putih (convenient translucent) yang sangat sederhana, classy dan mudah digunakan karena pompa berwarna hitam. Mudah dibawa kemana saja dan higienis, karena pump-nya bisa diputar untuk di-lock. Jadi ngga perlu takut tumpah.

Serum ini ngga berwarna, gel nya sangat ringan, dan teksturnya benar-benar ngga lengket di wajah. Non steaky, non heavy. Ketika diaplikasikan, serum ini menyebar secara merata. Suka! Jadi kalau aku pegang wajahku setelahnya, wajahku jadi halus banget. Dan, satu lagi, sama sekali tidak membuat wajahku menjadi break out ataupun over-oily. Kalau udah lewat 2 jam, jatohnya malah wajah kita terlihat dewy. Kece ya....

Pros:

1. Smart packaging; pump-nya higienis karena bisa di-lock. 
2. Teksturnya ringan, sehingga ke kulit langsung menyerap dan itu tidak meninggalkan rasa lengket. 
3. Bisa digunakan sebagai make up primer
4. Tidak membuat kulit wajah break out
5. Wangi tapi ngga menyengat  
6. Cukup melembabkan kulitku jadi aku ngga perlu menggunakan pelembab lain setelahnya. Well, karena tipe kulitku juga agak berminyak.
7.  Not greasy or oily
8. Membuat kulit menjadi lembut dan kenyal 

Cons: 

1. Menurut pendapat saya, harganya agak mahal. Harga serum ini IDR 130K untuk ukuran 50ml. Seharusnya dengan harga segitu, kita dapat kemasan yang lebih bagus. Misalnya, kemasan yang terbuat dari kaca

Review: Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick (Just Peachy, Red Velvet, Cherry Bomb, and Carrot Gold)

Hola, niñas! In this post I'm going to review lipstick product.
 
To be honest of all the makeup stuff, I like to collect lipstick. Can't resist from a desire to buy XD. I've been quite a long time to buy this lipstick but it was going to review the now hehehe. This time, I would review Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick. Many bloggers are already reviewing this lipstick. In Indonesia, this lipstick is often sold out at the online shop, because beside the price is cheap, this lipstick gives matte finish and long lasting, according to some reviews of beauty bloggers. Cause of my curiosity, I am as a matte-lipstick-holic also curious want to try this lipstick. Wet n Wild is one of drugstore brand with affordable price. I bought it only 59k.

So, here are the pictures of Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick:

This lipstick has a black colored packaging made of plastic, with colored translucent cap that allows us to see the contents of the product without having to open it first. In my honest opinion, the packaging is horrible, fragile. I'm afraid crushing the caps. Make sure to put it carefully.

Lipstick can not go in at all so it can be seen partly from the clear lid. This is one that I don't like, because when I'm going to open or close the caps, the lipstick can struck the caps. It can damage the lipstick, make it looks like messy too.

Code of Colors. (Sorry for Carrot Gold shade, the code was torn apart. It's 969)

Red Velvet: bright cool cherry red with pink base

Cherry Bomb: blend of cherry color with smokey burgundy accents

Carrot Gold: true orange, just like color of carrot (my fav)

So, talking about the quality of this lipstick, I can say that I'm so happy with the results. The color is bold and pigmented. The color isn't easily wiped. It give semi-matte finish. If you have a very dry lips, better for you to scrub your lips and use lipbalm first.

Review: Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Skin Foundation SPF 15 (220 Natural Beige) and Revlon PhotoReady Two Way SPF 19 (001 Ivory)

Hola, niñas! 

On this occasion I will review other products from Revlon, the foundation. I was hunting a durable foundation in my oily skin but does not make white-cast. I need foundie that really gives long lasting for all day wear. After browsing and asking here and there, I finally decided to buy foundation from Revlon; Revlon ColorStay for Combination or Oily Skin. Gonna make this review shortly as previously Riztrya already reviewed the same product, the difference is the type of product, Riztrya choose Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal / Dry Skin. Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Normal / Dry Skin has 12 shades of color choices, while Revlon ColorStay for Combination or oily skin has more color choices, i.e. 20 shades. Riztrya and I picked the same shade; Natural Beige. It's match for Indonesian's skin (kuning langsat). And, for the normal / dry skin, SPF on Revlon Colorstay would be higher than for combination / oily skin. It because SPF also works to balance the oil levels for the skin.

Here we go!

This packaging makes bloggers all around the world complain. Impractical at all! Foundation better with a pump. And, it can be very vulnerable when poured, come out too much. It also has very large hole -___-. The cap of the bottle used the threaded models. This cap also would be a disaster called "spilled in the bag" because sometime I twisted the cap less tight.

This foundation is quiet watery, creamy and the texture isn't too thick as BB Cream. So more easily assimilated and leveled in the skin. This foundation has medium-high coverage. If used daily, for me that non-daily user foundation, it's quite heavy. But if you want to use it daily, you can use with a small amount ;)

As you can see, Revlon Colorstay can't cover all of my pimples. But for me, it's fair enough. You need powder after use this foundation. I'm using Revlon Photoready Two Way Powder Foundation in Ivory shade, the brightest shade. Tips: if you pick a darker shade (darker than your face color) for your face foundation, then for your finishing powder / compact, you can pick a brighter one. I bought the refill (IDR 125k+sponge), cause the whole packaging (sponge+mirror) is IDR 175k. it's only give a mirror and you should add 50k. Geez nooo :p

I'm not going to give a lot of comments for the packaging, because I bought her Refill packs. But the soft sponge, can elevate powder well and can blend the powder into the skin well. If usually I prefer to use the brush for TWC applications, for Revlon PhotoReady Two Way Powder Foundation  It isn't the problem anyway using its sponge. Because the results are smooth and natural as well.

According Revlon site, this PhotoReady line's product has been tested with under natural lighting and space, and also below the camera lens with high resolution, the result is the face skin looks smoother. TWC is equipped with Photochromatic pigments that blend and refract light. Extra fine powder, its coverage of medium to full with a light texture and a soft matte final result. Also comes with SPF 19. Oh yes, this powder is also oil free and fragance free.

Natural and light to use it everyday, but still flatten the skin color, cover the lightly stain and eyebag, as well as make the skin look smoother.

Pros Revlon Colorstay Foundation:

1. Liquid texture, easy to blend in 
2. Good staying power 
3. Good oil control (although for my skin still need primer on the T-zone)
4. Medium to full coverage
5. Affordable, compare to other variants / brands (IDR 130k/30ml) 
6. Has a SPF (low SPF = less-white cast)
7. Has no annoying fragrance 
8. Provides many variant shade for you skin colour

Cons  Revlon Colorstay Foundation:

1. It didn't come with a pump
2. It might not be used daily

Pros Revlon Photoready Two Way Powder Foundation:

1. Blendable
2. Longlasting 
3. Do not give a cakey feel 
4. Conceal pores and under eye area. 
5. Double function as a foundation too (use a damp sponge). 
6. The sponge has a good quality  
7. Fragrance free
8. Natural matte finish

 Cons Revlon Photoready Two Way Powder Foundation:

1. Expensive :')
